The coverage in one paragraph

Bay Area AEO publishes a page for San Francisco and for each of four regions, the North Bay, South Bay, East Bay and Peninsula, and a page for each of 47 named cities within them. Counting San Francisco, that is 48 cities across the nine Bay Area counties. On the industry side, it publishes four industry pages and forty niche pages, ten per industry. The award listing cites this coverage as the regional specificity it rewarded: dedicated pages that make the coverage area checkable.

Each region in the agency's words

The region pages describe each market in a sentence. The North Bay is a mix of tourist destinations and close-knit local markets: wine country, Marin's small towns and Solano's growing cities. The South Bay is where many of the AI tools now recommending local businesses were built, and its residents were early adopters. The East Bay is the Bay Area's largest and most varied market, from Oakland's food scene to the Tri-Valley suburbs and the Delta. The Peninsula, from Pacifica to the downtowns along Caltrain, is full of high-value customers who ask AI before they choose a restaurant, doctor or contractor. San Francisco is one of the most competitive local markets in the country.

Every location page carries AI-use estimates according to Pew Research (June 2026), with population from the California Department of Finance (January 2026). The June 2026 entry tabulates them by region.

What a niche page adds

Each niche page lists the questions customers in that trade ask AI and the signals that decide the answer. The signals are specific. The wineries page lists tasting fees, group size, reservation rules and what is poured, plus itinerary facts such as parking and dog policies. The HVAC page lists heat pump and electrification content, manufacturer credentials and a CSLB C-20 license. The therapist and accountant pages each carry their own, as do the staffing pages. A business owner can open the page for their trade and see what the agency will build.

Where place and trade meet

The two halves of the coverage cross in the sample questions. "Plumber in Daly City for a sewer line inspection" sits on the plumbing page and in a Peninsula city. "Livermore Valley winery with a picnic area" sits on the wineries page and in the East Bay. A client's prompt panel is built at the same crossing: its trade, its city, its neighborhoods.

Smaller towns are covered too. The agency's FAQ says it works with businesses in smaller towns throughout the nine-county Bay Area, beyond the 48 cities with pages of their own. The six city entries in this journal, from San Francisco to Fremont, read individual pages in detail.
